GAS SUPPRESSION SYSTEM

A gas fire suppression system is a type of fire protection system that uses gas to extinguish fires in enclosed spaces. This system works by releasing a specific type of gas into a room or area when a fire is detected, which reduces the oxygen levels and suffocates the fire.

Gas fire suppression systems are often used in areas where water-based fire suppression systems are not suitable or effective, such as in areas with sensitive electronic equipment or in areas where water damage could be particularly costly. They are also commonly used in data centres, computer rooms, and other areas where electronic equipment is stored.

There are several types of gas fire suppression systems, including Inert gas systems, Halocarbon gas systems and CO2 systems etc.

Gas fire suppression systems are typically designed to be automatic, meaning they can detect a fire and activate the gas suppression system without the need for human intervention. They can also be manually activated if necessary.
