FOAM SYSTEM

A Foam System is a type of fire protection system that is designed to extinguish fires by using foam. Foam is a combination of air, water, and a foaming agent, which when mixed in the correct proportions, creates a blanket-like layer of bubbles that suffocates the flames.

Foam systems are typically used in areas where flammable liquids or gases are stored, processed or transported, as they are highly effective in suppressing fires involving these types of fuels. Foam systems can also be used in other areas such as aircraft hangars, warehouses, and engine rooms, HFO/LDO Tanks, where large amounts of combustible materials are present.

Foam systems work by releasing foam concentrate from a storage tank and mixing it with water in a foam proportioner, which then discharges the foam solution through a network of pipes and nozzles to cover the area to be protected. The foam solution can be delivered as a spray, jet, or a combination of both, depending on the specific application.

Foam systems are highly effective in suppressing fires, as they not only extinguish the flames but also cool down the surface, preventing reignition. They can be manually or automatically activated, depending on the system design and the specific application.
